Job Summary:
The Lead Benefits Analyst will perform as a senior-level technical expert and team lead, responsible for the end-to-end administration, strategic analysis, and compliance for the benefits programs (health and welfare, leave administration, retirement plans, and other voluntary benefits). This role involves complex data analysis, leading annual processes such as open enrollment, and mentoring the benefits team.
This position is an on-site role 5 days per week at our Corporate Headquarters located in Alpharetta, GA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the administration of health, welfare, and retirement plans, ensuring compliance with plan documents, vendor contracts, and federal/state regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA).
- Analyze benefits utilization data, benchmarking, and trends to recommend cost-effective, competitive changes to benefits policies.
- Serve as the lead for annual open enrollment, benefits technology configuration, testing, and special projects.
- Serve as subject matter expert for employees and HR partners.
- Resolve complex benefits issues and escalations.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to benefits team members and review their work.
- Oversee compliance filings, such as Form 5500, and conduct internal audits of enrollment records, vendor invoices, and payroll deductions.
- Prepare communications materials and lead presentations to explain benefits programs to employees and management.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, or organizational restructuring related to benefits.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years direct, progressive benefits administration experience with 1+ years of lead or senior-level experience.
- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits programs, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Strong proficiency with HRIS systems (UKG, Workday, ADP).
- High accuracy in managing sensitive employee data and financial reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel skills (v-lookups, pivot tables) for data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) designations.
