This role is ideal for a skilled carpenter who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys problem-solving, and wants steady, meaningful work without the unpredictability of traditional GC environments. You will work closely with RDH Superintendents, Project Managers, and technical staff to execute work aligned with RDH's high technical and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Self-perform small carpentry and building enclosure tasks, including minor framing, blocking, trim removal and reinstatement, cladding removal and reinstallation, and temporary framing.

  • Support building enclosure investigations by creating exploratory openings, preparing test areas, and reinstating assemblies following testing.
  • Install temporary protection, safety barriers, guardrails, access panels, and other make-safe measures.
  • Assist with punch-list and closeout tasks.
  • Provide flexible field support across multiple CM projects, including site prep, layout, basic demolition, material handling, and site organization.
  • Work closely with RDH Superintendents and Project Managers to support site needs.
  • Execute work to RDH's technical, quality, and safety standards.
  • Assist with basic documentation of self-performed work, including photos and daily reporting.
  • Identify constructability or sequencing issues in the field and communicate them clearly to the project team.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on carpentry or related construction experience
  • Experience with renovations, building enclosure work, or occupied buildings is strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and details and translate them into accurate field execution
  • Strong understanding of building assemblies and construction sequencing
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
  • Ability to legally operate a company vehicle in accordance with Washington state requirements
  • Ability to safely work at heights and perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Comfort operating machinery and willingness to obtain required operator certifications as needed, with training costs covered by RDH
  • Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with a broader project team

Skills and Competencies

  • High level of craftsmanship and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound field judgment
  • Clear, professional communication with internal teams and site stakeholders
  • Organized, dependable, and safety-conscious
  • Adaptability and comfort moving between projects and task types as needs shift
  • Ability to compile material, equipment, and labor lists for small projects
  • Ability to provide input on project logistics and constructability
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and construction-related software
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with other trades and engineers

We offer a competitive base salary range of $85,000-$95,000 (annualized for a full-time role), with final compensation based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for performance-based incentive bonuses and participation in RDH's employee ownership program, allowing you to share in the success you help create.
