Lead Cashier

As a Lead Cashier at Mother’s Market, you will oversee front-end operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient transaction processing. Your leadership will guide a team of cashiers and courtesy clerks, foster a positive work environment and maintain store standards.

Hourly Pay: $16.90–$19.00

What You will Do

• Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate cashier and courtesy clerk teams to deliver outstanding service.

• Operational Oversight: Manage front-end operations, including running breaks, handling returns, processing transactions, and ensuring accurate cash handling.

• Customer Service Excellence: Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring satisfaction.

• Inventory Management: Assist in stocking and facing products, ensuring shelf labels are accurate and consistent.

• Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized front-end area, including registers and surrounding spaces.

• Safety and Security: Monitor and enforce safety and security protocols to protect team members and customers.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to support store-wide initiatives and maintain operational flow.

What You Bring

Education & Training:

• High School Diploma or GED

Experience & Skills:

• Prior experience as a cashier; supervisory experience is a plus.

• Strong leadership, organization, and time-management abilities

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Comfortable using Word, Excel, Outlook, POS systems

• Excellent math skills and the ability to use data to drive staffing and sales

Physical & Schedule Requirements

• Lift/move grocery and bulk items up to 50 lbs. (up to 100 times/day)

• Handle carts, dollies, and electric pallet jacks

• Stand, walk, bend, and twist frequently

• Flexibility to work various shifts mornings, evenings, weekends as needed
