Job Description

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time Cybersecurity Engineer 5 to join our team in your choice of our Mossville, IL or East Peoria, IL office locations! This role supports Technology’s cybersecurity efforts for Minestar mining solutions, focusing on securing connected mining assets, embedded systems, and onboard/offboard software. The position drives compliance with emerging regulations such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act, including upcoming vulnerability‑disclosure requirements, and leads vulnerability management across mining technologies. Responsibilities include reviewing security technologies, consolidating STAR threat data into Power BI dashboards, and ensuring risks are tracked and addressed. The role requires strong experience in connected asset and application security, embedded system security, SDLC and CI/CD security practices, ISO 27001 alignment, and collaboration with development teams to ensure secure, compliant solutions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •     Partner closely with DT&D business stakeholders to develop a deep understanding of business strategies, priorities, and challenges.Provide cybersecurity leadership and subject matter expertise to define, prioritize, and execute initiatives that deliver cyber-safe solutions while enabling business objectives.
  •     Evaluate technical solutions and recommend process and architectural improvements aligned with Secure SDLC, DevSecOps best practices, and company Information Security Directives.Support solution architecture development and documentation, including performing architecture and security design reviews.
  •     Provide technical and process expertise related to cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) activities.Lead the remediation of known vulnerabilities and develop sustainable, scalable vulnerability management strategies.
  •     Identify, track, and report key cybersecurity metrics and risk indicators to business unit stakeholders.Develop, document, and own strategies to address critical cybersecurity risk areas.
  •     Maintain current knowledge of security procedures, directives, and technology controls, including secure application architecture, threat modeling, penetration testing, data classification, and data handling.Participate in cross-functional working groups and provide guidance to solution development teams on secure architecture, design, and industry best practices.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  •     Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, orMaster’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  •     Minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, solution development, or engineering roles.REQUIRED SKILLS:Demonstrated experience with industry security standards and frameworks, including:
  •     EU-CRAISO 27001
  •     NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)NIST 800-82
  •     ISA/IEC 62443OWASP
  •     Broad knowledge of information security principles, processes, and technologies, including:Power BI and security metrics reporting
  •     Application architecture and DevOps toolingConnected asset and IoT security
  •     Cloud platform service development and deploymentIntegration and automation of security within SDLC and CI/CD pipelines
  •     Threat modeling and risk analysisVulnerability assessment, prioritization, and remediation
  •     Identity and Access Management (IAM) standards and best practicesDefense-in-depth security strategies
  •     Embedded systems securityOn-premises and cloud networking concepts
  •     API and web services securityTop Candidates Will Have:Professional information security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, GICSP, GPEN, GWEB).
  •     Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical security concepts for non-technical audiences.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment.
  •     Experience coordinating cross-functional teams to drive process review and continuous improvement initiatives.Demonstrated project management and change management capabilities.
  •     Strong analytical skills, including the ability to develop meaningful metrics, perform critical analysis, and deliver executive-level decision support materials.SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED:Effectiveness Measurement: Ability to apply measurement techniques to assess work quality and productivity for continuous improvement.
