Position Summary:

Bottomline Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Lead DevOps Engineer with 10-15 years of hands-on expertise in designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge DevOps solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with Cl/CD pipelines, cloud-native technologies, infrastructure automation, GitOps practices, production release management, and team leadership.

This role requires strong technical acumen, decision-making skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and automated platforms.

This position is based at our Bangalore, India office.

Key Responsibilities

DevOps Strategy & Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and guide DevOps engineers and cross-functional
• Define and drive DevOps best practices, architecture standards, and automation
• Provide strong decision-making support to stakeholders and technical
• Collaborate with development, QA, SRE, and operations teams for seamless
• Familiarity with Scrum/Kanban for DevOps
• Ability to translate technical risk into business

Cl/CD Pipeline Ownership

• Architect, implement, and optimize Cl/CD pipelines using Jenkins/gitlab Bitbucket/Git, and GitOps-based
• Ensure robust code scanning, security checks, and quality gates using
• Drive continuous improvement in release automation and deployment

Containerization & Orchestration

• Build and manage containerized environments using
• Deploy, scale, and manage applications on Kubernetes
• Implement GitOps-driven deployments using

Infrastructure Automation

• Design and automate infrastructure provisioning using Ansible and
• Maintain Infrastructure-as-Code environments to support scalable, immutable
• Improve operational efficiency through end-to-end

Production Management & Reliability

• Oversee production deployments, incident response, and root-cause
• Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of
• Manage environment configurations, release calendars, and change management

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with engineering leadership to align DevOps roadmap with business
• Drive knowledge sharing, documentation, and process
• Communicate complex technical topics clearly to non-technical

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability, scalability, and availability of production
• Drive incident and problem management, including incident response, RCA, and post-
• Implement observability best practices - monitoring, logging, and alerting across systems.
• Optimize system performance, cost, and operational
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10-15 years of hands-on experience in

• Strong expertise with:

• Git, Bitbucket, branching strategies, code

• Jenkins (pipeline development, plugin management).

• SonarQube (code quality, security scanning).

• ArgoCD, GitOps workflows.

• Docker, Kubernetes

• Ansible, Puppet for

• Experience with production release management, Cl/CD governance, and operational

• Solid understanding of microservices, networking, security, and cloud-native

• Ability to lead teams, make strategic decisions, and handle high-pressure production

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with laC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with service mesh, policy-as-code, or advanced automation
