Job Description
I am supporting a top ranked engineering, architecture, and construction firm in their search for a Lead Estimator to join their team. This person can operate fully remote for the northeast region with occasional travel. This person will play a critical role in driving front end planning, managing estimate development, and partnering closely with design, preconstruction, and project management teams for complex life science and advanced technology projects.

My client is a global consulting, design, and construction services firm established in 1980 and recognized as a leader in advanced technology and life science facilities. With over twenty offices across the United States and a strong national reputation, they deliver highly technical lab, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and R & D environments ranging from one million to one hundred fifty million dollars. The Massachusetts office has been active for eight years and operates as a collaborative, high performing group of sixteen team members including superintendents, construction engineers, and project administration. They offer a mix of complex project work, a strong national support network, a people focused culture, and a modern Medford office environment complete with shared work areas and team centric gathering spaces.
Description
- Partner with design teams, project managers, and preconstruction leaders to understand workload, project goals, and estimating requirements
- Lead and develop estimates for life science, advanced technology, manufacturing, R&D, cleanroom, and related project types
- Coordinate estimating resources, assign tasks, and guide assistant or supporting estimators
- Perform front end planning, conceptual estimating, and strategy development for early phase work
- Review drawings, specifications, and engineering deliverables to ensure accurate scope alignment
- Prepare, review, and finalize estimate packages for client submission
- Maintain ongoing communication with contractors, subcontractor networks, and industry partners
- Provide market intelligence on pricing trends, engineering requirements, and mechanical, electrical, and process driven scopes
- Support project teams throughout preconstruction with technical insight and estimating leadership

Profile
- Strong background in estimating for life science or advanced technology projects
- Experience working directly with internal design teams and engineering partners
- Manufacturing, R and D lab, and cleanroom project exposure is highly preferred
- A strong contractor network and awareness of local market conditions
- Ability to independently lead estimating efforts and guide supporting team members
- Experience with software such as Revit, ACC, Trimbull, or Sage Timberline is a plus
- Ability to work from the Medford MA office or be fully remote with occasional site visits to projects in North east region
