Lead HVAC Installer | Ocean State Air Solutions | Portsmouth, RI

Ocean State Air Solutions is hiring a highly skilled Lead HVAC Installer to support both residential replacement and new construction projects throughout the East Bay area of Rhode Island.

Pay Range: $35.00 to $45.00+ per hour, depending on experience and licensing, with performance-based bonusesBonus Potential: $10,000 to $20,000+ annually based on job profitability and performance

Position OverviewAs a Lead HVAC Installer, you will manage and perform installations of heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in both residential retrofit and new construction environments. You will lead installation crews, ensure projects are completed efficiently and profitably, and maintain high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role is best suited for someone who understands how to balance craftsmanship with productivity and can take full ownership of job outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform residential HVAC system installations, including system replacements and new construction installs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications for new construction projects
  • Oversee installation teams to ensure jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to company standards
  • Ensure all installations meet local codes, manufacturer specifications, and safety requirements
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, builders, and homeowners throughout the job
  • Monitor job progress and contribute to job profitability through efficiency and quality execution
  • Train and mentor junior installers and apprentices
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites
  • Complete job documentation accurately and on time

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of HVAC installation experience, including residential and new construction
  • EPA Certification required
  • Active HVAC license required
  • Experience with boiler installation, furnaces, gas, and oil systems is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead jobs and guide other installers preferred
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, installation best practices, and code requirements
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings
  • Valid driver's license with an insurable driving history
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while also leading a team in a fast-paced environment
