Lead HVAC Installer

$30–$40 per hour plus overtime, bonuses, and company-paid medical

Take charge of residential HVAC installations, lead a crew, and set the standard for quality workmanship.

One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning of San Diego is looking for an experienced Lead HVAC Installer who can manage installations from start to finish. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates well, and can help develop installers and apprentices.

What You’ll Do

Lead residential and light-commercial HVAC installations
Work hands-on alongside helpers and junior installers
Coordinate equipment, materials, tools, and daily job requirements
Ensure installations meet company standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes
Complete system startups, commissioning, and final quality-control checks
Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
Complete job documentation accurately and on time
Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, office staff, and management
Train and mentor apprentices and developing installers
Identify installation concerns and communicate solutions before they become problems

Compensation

$30–$40 per hour, depending on experience

Required Qualifications

At least three years of residential HVAC installation experience
Demonstrated ability to independently lead complete HVAC installations
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of HVAC installation work
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to successfully complete applicable pre-employment screening

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supervising helpers or installation crews
EPA Section 608 certification
NATE certification
Experience with heat pumps, furnaces, air conditioners, package units, and ductwork
Familiarity with permitting, inspections, startup procedures, and commissioning documentation
