Job Description

Position Overview

MD Hyperbaric, a leading provider of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), is seeking a dedicated, patient-focused Lead Hyperbaric Technician & Safety Coordinator to join our Tribeca, NY team.

This individual will play a key role in both the daily operation of the center and the safe delivery of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. In addition to providing direct patient support and treatment oversight, the Lead Technician will serve as the center's primary safety resource, helping ensure compliance with hyperbaric safety standards, emergency preparedness protocols, and operational best practices.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

This is a full-time position. Candidates must be available to work weekdays and Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Intake & Preparation

  • Conduct patient intake, verify appointments, and prepare patients for HBOT sessions.
  • Ensure all required documentation, waivers, consents, and intake forms are completed accurately prior to treatment.
  • Review patient treatment plans and communicate any concerns to the appropriate clinical team members.
  • Ensure patients are properly prepared for treatment in accordance with all safety requirements.

Patient Education & Safety

  • Review HBOT procedures, safety requirements, and educational materials with patients prior to treatment.
  • Ensure patients understand treatment expectations and address questions or concerns.
  • Reinforce all chamber safety requirements and prohibited item policies.
  • Promote a safe, professional, and comfortable treatment environment at all times.

Patient Monitoring & Treatment Oversight

  • Continuously monitor patients throughout HBOT sessions, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to patient needs during treatment.
  • Maintain clear communication with patients before, during, and after treatment sessions.
  • Follow established emergency procedures when necessary.

Patient Checkout & Rebooking

  • Assist patients with scheduling future appointments and treatment packages.
  • Provide post-treatment instructions and answer patient questions.
  • Support patient retention through excellent service and follow-up communication.

Payment Processing & Patient Conversion

  • Process payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Present treatment package options and pricing information to patients.
  • Educate patients on the benefits of treatment continuity and assist in converting patients into recommended treatment plans.

Chamber Turnover & Equipment Readiness

  • Prepare chambers between sessions according to established cleaning and safety protocols.
  • Ensure chambers are clean, operational, and ready for patient use.
  • Monitor chamber performance and communicate any equipment concerns promptly.

Oxygen Supply Management

  • Monitor oxygen inventory and supply levels.
  • Safely replace oxygen cylinders and manage oxygen-related equipment according to company procedures and safety standards.
  • Report supply shortages or equipment concerns proactively.

Center Operations & Patient Flow

  • Coordinate patient flow and scheduling to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Minimize patient wait times and support a smooth treatment experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the center.
  • Assist with inventory management and operational readiness.

Safety Coordinator Responsibilities

As the designated Safety Coordinator for the center, this individual will help maintain and reinforce MD Hyperbaric's commitment to patient and staff safety.

Safety & Compliance

  • Serve as the center's primary resource for hyperbaric safety protocols and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to MD Hyperbaric safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of treatment areas, oxygen systems, chambers, and safety equipment.
  • Monitor compliance with patient screening and treatment safety procedures.
  • Support routine safety drills and staff safety education.
  • Maintain required safety documentation, logs, and compliance records.
  • Identify, document, and escalate safety concerns, incidents, or near misses.
  • Partner with center leadership and corporate teams to maintain a safe treatment environment.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Team Leadership & Support

  • Serve as the lead technician and primary resource for day-to-day operational questions.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new technicians.
  • Reinforce company standards, policies, and operational expectations.
  • Support center leadership in maintaining operational consistency and accountability.
  • Lead by example through professionalism, reliability, and exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

Required

  • Current certification or licensure as an EMT, MA, LPN, RN, Paramedic, or other relevant clinical credential.
  • CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn hyperbaric medicine, safety standards, and operational procedures through company-provided training.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a healthcare, medical, wellness, or patient-facing environment.
  • Hyperbaric Technician certification (CHT).
  • Previous experience with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).
  • Experience training, mentoring, or leading team members.
