Job Description

 $2,000.00 Sign on Bonus

Come join our team in Mendota, IL. We have an opening for a Lead Maintenance Technician. The Lead Maintenance Technician oversees and performs the preventive and reactive maintenance duties required for the manufacturing operations of the plant. Priorities of the Lead Maintenance Technician include management and execution of PM schedules. Repair of any equipment for maintaining maximum production rates. Maintain adequate spare parts inventory. We are looking for someone that has supervisory or team management experience. Feel good knowing you are working to make the world a greener place recycling used cooking oil.

Sign on bonus to paid out in installments: First payment of $500 to be paid after 90 days and second payment $500 to be paid after 180 days, $1000 at one year.

This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends as required and fulfill on-call duties for repairs and assistance.

Schedule: 7am to 3:30pm

Starting hourly rate: $33 -$35.50

Job Duties:

  • Set daily work priorities and assign work orders to maintenance team. Assign schedules and maintenance duties.
  • Rebuild pumps and motor assembly.
  • Communicate daily with plant operations manager and general manager.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained to perform their jobs safely.
  • Learn Oracle work order and inventory system and assist GM with upkeep of parts inventory.
  • Check on assigned work orders to see that they are properly completed.
  • Report personnel issues to general manager.
  • Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment.
  • Immediately communicate unsafe conditions. acts or injuries.
  • Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and templates.
  • Record daily work performed and parts used on work order sheet.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances.
  • Able to Stick and MIG weld.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical components and circuits of various voltages 480vac 3phase, 110 and 220.and follow schematics.
  • Ability to analyze control circuits including low voltage and analog signals.
  • Familiar with PLC programming and troubleshooting and follow PLC ladder logic.
  • Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Operate metalworking machines to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, and fixtures.
  • Ability to work with and implement automated processes.
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept in a proper and safe working condition and area is clean and clear of debris after repair or inspection.
  • Oversee and participate in wastewater application every spring and fall.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures. Stay current on all Vector safety videos and fully participate and support all safety initiatives.
  • Winter duties, snow removal, salting and icicle removal.
  • Understand operation and maintenance of anaerobic digester.
  • Perform equipment inspections on forklift, scissor lift, manlift and site safety inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of relevant Lead or Supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer use.
  • Ability to Mig and Stick weld.
  • Boiler and Pipe fitting experience required.
  • Proven industrial mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic skills including troubleshooting.
  • Able to work, coach and communicate with all employees
  • Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull up to 100lbs.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, kneel, climb ladders and squat for extended periods.
  • Ability to work at heights up to thirty-five feet, in confined spaces, and in adverse temperatures and weather conditions.
