Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ physical conditions to determine appropriate therapy interventions.
• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans aligned with each patient’s needs and recovery objectives.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility.
• Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies to optimize outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, injury prevention, and health maintenance strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, and medical administrative staff to coordinate care plans.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, treatment sessions, and progress notes in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold the highest standards of patient confidentiality and safety.
• Assist in managing clinic operations by supervising support staff and contributing to medical office management tasks such as scheduling and resource allocation.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, utilizing data from medical records and utilization management reports to enhance service delivery.
• Support fiscal management efforts through budgeting activities related to therapy supplies and equipment procurement.
• Contribute to staff training programs in medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare regulations including JCAHO standards.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Proven experience in clinical settings such as acute care hospitals, outpatient clinics, or rehabilitation centers.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and EMR/EHR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks.
• Experience with healthcare management practices including practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous.
• Demonstrated supervisory skills with experience overseeing support staff or junior therapists.
• Familiarity with fiscal management principles including budgeting for supplies and equipment procurement.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and medical administrative support procedures.
