Job Summary

Residential Solutions is the non-regulated business of Duke Energy that sells and administers Home Protection Plans to residential customers. As the business is expanding and a new platform is being developed to support new business models and customers, we are looking to fill a role with focus on integrating other Duke Energy products and services into the new platform, where applicable. This role provides dedicated ownership for connecting utility products and services and incentives with our new customer platform, ensuring customers can easily access savings opportunities, efficiency programs, and related services.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and understand customer benefits and rebates available from the various products and services

  • Work with product owners of the various programs to understand eligibility and customer benefits

  • Lead and facilitate discussions and workshops with product owners and other stakeholders to drive out deliverables.

  • Set objectives and execute or adjust strategies and plans for integrating the utility programs in the customer-facing application.

  • Work with product stakeholders to develop and implement marketing campaigns when applicable.

  • Develop customer journey maps and process flows within the customer facing application.

  • Develop and evaluate metrics that provide opportunities to improve lead generations and close rates by implementing initiatives to improve sales effectiveness

  • Analyze and understand market research results. Set strategies and plans accordingly that create sharp focus on customer needs and wants; and appropriately allocate budget and deployment of resources

  • Lead and facilitate the development of campaign plans, set objectives, measure and analyze performance, and demonstrate influence on customer satisfaction

  • Leads and facilitates group that manages profitable products & services in collaboration with key internal stakeholders and external stakeholders to create alliances and execute successful customer initiatives.

  • Manage the balance of regulatory and non-utility product opportunities in each jurisdiction and work with compliance for guidance.

  • Develop, communicate and execute long-term/ annual product plans, market and segment plans to deliver financial results in total and for each jurisdiction.

  • Continually reviews work processes within assigned products, programs and services and takes timely action for improvement.

  • Develop capital and O&M budgets for product, programs and services

  • Develop product lines of products, programs and services that identify and facilitate needed improvements, develop and implement promotional strategies and expand offers.

  • Maintain awareness of legislative and regulatory activities by forming strategic partnerships and supporting the development and demonstration of strategy and products and services.

  • Manage and modify contractual obligations if applicable.

  • Manage the vendor relationships like a business owner with minimal supervision for items like performance standards, quality, timeliness, tracking and reporting, invoicing, equipment operation, customer satisfaction and coordination with program stakeholders

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or other related degree

  • Minimum 5 years related working experience or

  • Associate's degree and 7 years of related experience

  • In lieu of bachelor's/associates degree, a High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of related work experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Engineering, or Business Administration

  • 7 years of related work experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in strategic planning, business planning, operational planning, growth planning, or jurisdictional planning.

  • Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional initiatives, governance routines, and business planning processes.

  • Experience with project management, including development of implementation plans, timelines, status reporting, and follow-up routines.

  • Strong financial acumen and ability to connect performance insights to business decisions.

  • Expert PowerPoint skills, including the ability to translate strategy, data, performance insights, and complex initiatives into clear, compelling executive-level presentation stories.

  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across functions and levels of the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-support skills.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, facilitate, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups.

  • Experience preparing executive presentations, business reviews, leadership meeting materials, and strategic updates.

  • Systems thinking and ability to connect the dots across functions, priorities, initiatives, and enterprise objectives.

  • Experience successfully working in a team environment to achieve shared goals.

  • Experience working in utility regulatory environment

  • Comprehensive financial and business acumen

  • Analytics capability/ proven ability to analyze market and financial data and research to develop successful customer and product strategies and plans, e.g., market research, market strategy, competitive intelligence, product management, project development

  • Demonstrated experience in change management, process integration and implementation and supervisory or management experience

  • Business operation experience

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills including communications skills, presentation skills, conflict resolution and management skills, excellent leadership skills and good facilitation skills at all levels, both internally and externally to Duke Energy

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees must live within a reasonable commute to their designated Duke Energy facility, not greater than 50 miles one way. Employees are expected to report to their assigned Duke Energy facility as required and directed by their manager, on average 3 full workdays per regular workweek.
