Job Description

THE ROLE

The Sanitation Lead provides hands-on leadership to Sanitation Technicians and coordinates scheduled cleaning and sanitation of facility equipment, production areas, and common areas. This position trains employees on approved cleaning methods and chemical use, assigns and monitors work, promotes employee and food safety, maintains required documentation, and helps ensure the facility is thoroughly and efficiently cleaned.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Team Leadership and Training

  • Lead by example with a can-do attitude and work hands-on with Sanitation Technicians to clean and sanitize facility equipment, production areas, and common areas according to the established schedule.

  • Train Sanitation Technicians on approved cleaning and sanitation methods and proper chemical use.

  • Ensure the facility is thoroughly and efficiently cleaned according to the established schedule and employee shifts are managed productively.

Cleaning and Sanitation

  • Strictly follow company Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and approved cleaning and sanitation methods.

  • Clean quickly and effectively as directed using company-approved and company-provided materials and tools.

  • Work safely in tight quarters and hard-to-reach areas, including under grow lines.

Employee and Food Safety Compliance

  • Follow the facility GMPs.

  • Execute daily processes that enforce food safety protocols and maintain compliance.

  • Support the efforts of the company to maintain our food safety system and quality programs.

  • Work safely and ensure the sanitation team follows company safety policies and procedures.

  • Wear required personal protective equipment and routinely verify that team members are wearing task-specific personal protective equipment.

Continuous Improvement and Operational Support

  • Recommend opportunities to the Supervisor for improving cleaning efficiency and sanitation practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support Operations.

WHO YOU ARE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Desire to grow and expand knowledge of food safety rules and regulations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand for an 8-hour shift.

  • Valid authorization to work in the United States.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Ability to lead by example, assign work, manage employee shifts, and provide clear training and direction.

  • Ability to apply and teach approved sanitation methods, chemical use, food safety requirements, and employee safety procedures.

  • Ability to monitor task-specific personal protective equipment and correct or escalate compliance concerns appropriately.

  • Ability to complete required sanitation documentation and weekly sign-off sheets accurately.

  • Ability to identify sanitation needs, adjust priorities, and recommend changes that improve cleaning quality and efficiency.

  • Ability to communicate staffing, scheduling, food safety, employee safety, and sanitation concerns promptly.
