Job Description

Job Title: Lead Security Guard (Retail)Company: IronRock SecurityLocation: Irvington, NJPay Rate: $18-$19/hourSchedule: Full-time & Part-time available

Position Overview:IronRock Security is seeking a reliable and experienced Lead Security Guard to oversee operations at a retail location in Irvington. This role requires a strong presence, excellent communication skills, and prior experience with access control. The Lead Guard will help ensure site coverage, support fellow officers, and maintain a safe environment for staff and customers.

This is a hands-on leadership role with opportunities for growth within IronRock Security.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead officer on site and point of contact for the client

  • Manage and monitor access control points

  • Conduct regular patrols of the retail property

  • Perform occasional mobile patrols as needed

  • Write clear incident and daily activity reports

  • Support scheduling coordination and communicate staffing needs

  • Maintain a professional and customer-friendly presence

  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies appropriately

Requirements:

  • Previous security experience required

  • Access control experience required

  • Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred

  • Valid driver's license (required for periodic mobile patrols)

  • Strong communication and report-writing skills

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $18-$19/hour

  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available

  • Medical insurance available to full-time employees working 30+ hours

    • IronRock pays 50% of the employee-only medical premium

    • Benefits begin the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment
