As a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Layout Lead at Micron Technology, Inc., you will guide and support PCB layout designers in developing complex, high-performance printed circuit boards. We seek a dynamic and motivated technical leader with a strong background in PCB design who can help establish, apply, and maintain layout standards and workflows for the team.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of high-speed design, signal integrity, and power delivery techniques. This role requires close collaboration with multiple designers, engineers, and external fabrication and manufacturing partners to ensure efficient design outcomes. You will assist designers at all experience levels in resolving design challenges and will contribute to the successful development of complex PCB designs. This is a full-time, on-site position in Boise Idaho, relocation is required if outside the Boise area.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Support
  • Leadership & Mentorship:Provide technical supervision, performance management, and career development for the HVM PCB layout team.
  • Standards & Quality:Establish and enforce PCB layout standards, documentation guidelines, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Process Optimization:Identify and implement systems, tools, and workflow enhancements to increase efficiency.

Technical Execution
  • Design & Verification:Guide the creation of high-quality layouts usingSiemens Xpeditiontools and modify schematics as required.
  • DFM/DFA Integration:Apply Design-for-Manufacturability and Design-for-Assembly guidelines to ensure production-ready designs.
  • Technical Review & Resolution:Lead design reviews and collaborate with vendors to resolve complex fabrication or assembly issues.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience:10+ years of hands-on, high-performance PCB layout experience.
  • Leadership:7+ years managing technical design teams, including mentoring and performance management.
  • Technical Expertise:Mastery of manual placement/routing with deep knowledge ofSI,PDN,DFM, andDFAprinciples.
  • Education:Associate’s degree or equivalent practical experience in PCB development or electronics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Software & Data Mastery:Expert proficiency inSiemens Xpeditionand experience withTeamcenter/EDMfor workflow integration.
  • Certification:ActiveIPC Designer Certification(CID or CID+).
  • Process Excellence:Proven track record in defining documentation standards and leading tool/process improvement initiatives.
