Now Hiring: Lead Service Electrician (Commercial)
Locations: Flowood, MS & Jackson, MSPosition Type: Full-TimePay: Competitive, Based on Experience
We are seeking an experienced Lead Service Electrician to perform and lead commercial electrical service work, including troubleshooting, repairs, small projects, and preventive maintenance. This role works closely with Dispatch and Service Management, mentors junior technicians, and ensures all work meets safety and code standards.
Job Summary
The Lead Service Electrician plans daily service work, diagnoses electrical issues, completes repairs, and leads small crews. You will provide excellent customer service while maintaining accurate documentation and strong safety practices.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair 120/208V and 277/480V systems, panels, lighting, and transformers
Install and test wiring, feeders, branch circuits, and conduit (EMT/RMC/PVC)
Troubleshoot motor controls, starters, contactors, and basic VFD systems
Perform preventive maintenance and electrical testing
Read and interpret blueprints, one-lines, and panel schedules
Coordinate daily work with Dispatch/Service Manager
Communicate parts and material needs
Lead and train helpers and apprentices
Complete work orders, photos, and time entries in mobile systems
Follow all safety rules (LOTO, PPE, fall protection, energized work permits)
Maintain a clean work area and company vehicle
Communicate professionally with customers and provide status updates
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience
1-2 years in a lead or senior technician role preferred
Strong knowledge of NEC and safe work practices
Skilled in conduit bending, wire pulling, and terminations
Proven troubleshooting ability for lighting, power, and controls systems
Ability to read schematics and one-line diagrams
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights, rooftops, and in confined spaces
Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Journeyman or Master Electrician license
OSHA-10 certification (or ability to obtain)
Experience with generators/ATS, VFDs, lighting controls, and basic PLC systems
Customer service and mobile work-order experience
Tools, Vehicle & Allowances

Field-based at customer job sites
Exposure to weather, rooftops, and active facilities
Local travel during workday
