Job Description

We are partnering with a trusted leader in disaster restoration and recovery services across the Atlanta metro area, supporting residential and commercial clients affected by water, fire, mold, and biohazard damage. We are seeking an experienced Lead Restoration Technician who brings strong technical expertise, on‑site leadership, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. This role is ideal for a hands‑on professional who can manage projects from start to finish, guide junior technicians, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

Job Overview

The Lead Restoration Technician oversees all on‑site disaster response activities, including water mitigation, fire and smoke restoration, and mold remediation. This role serves as the primary customer contact on the job site, conducts assessments, operates monitoring equipment, and leads a team to ensure efficient, compliant, and high‑quality project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Technical Execution

  • Respond promptly to emergency service calls throughout the Atlanta area.
  • Perform water extraction, structural drying, fire and smoke cleaning, mold remediation, and biohazard cleanup in accordance with IICRC standards.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor drying and air filtration equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers); document moisture readings daily.
  • Conduct demolition, content manipulation, pack‑outs, and site cleanup as needed.
  • Maintain equipment, vehicles, and tools to ensure readiness and reliability.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, direct, and mentor technicians on job sites to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Train new team members on safety protocols, equipment operation, and restoration procedures.
  • Promote a positive, safety‑focused team culture and model professionalism at all times.

Administration & Communication

  • Communicate clearly and confidently with customers, explaining the restoration process and providing timely updates.
  • Complete accurate job documentation, including moisture logs, work orders, crew sheets, and timecards.
  • Support Project Managers by providing measurements, scopes of work, and other data needed for estimating software (e.g., Xactimate).

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA safety procedures and company policies on every job site.
  • Conduct jobsite safety briefings and ensure proper use of PPE.
  • Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, or incidents immediately.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 2–4 years of hands‑on restoration field experience.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience on restoration projects.

Certifications

  • IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) — Required
  • IICRC Applied Structural Drying (ASD) — Highly preferred
  • IICRC Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician (FSRT) — Preferred

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong technical knowledge of water, fire, and mold remediation processes.
  • Ability to interpret scopes of work, safety data sheets, and technical instructions.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficiency with basic computer and mobile applications for documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift and carry 50–75 lbs. regularly; up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and ladder use.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces, varying temperatures, and environments with mold, dust, and airborne particles.
  • Must pass a medical evaluation and fit test for full‑face respirator use.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and participation in a 24/7 on‑call rotation.
