Job Description
- Follow an overall rehabilitation philosophy and provide guidance to fellow staff and clients in methods of achieving them.

- Assist in preparing and cooking meals.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the program.
- Clean up of meal; wash dishes, silverware, pots, and pans
- Putting the napkins in washer/dryer
- Put clean pots, pans, dishes, silverware away after washing and drying
- Take out garbage to dumpster
- Sweep and mop area if necessary
- Participate in and accompany members in outing and activities.
- Ensure the safety of the program, program's property, and individuals attending the program.
- Follow safety policy, protocols as set forth by Excela Health Systems and Caregivers of SWPA
- Assist at the front desk for designated times.
- Welcome members to the program
- Answer phone
- Sign members in and out of program
- Document inventory of all needed supplies.
- Put necessary items on list in kitchen unit to be bought
- Complete documentation that is associated with the program.
- Have clients fill out information sheet every 6 months
- Have clients fill out release of information every 6 months
- Sign members into program
- Sign members out of program
- Follow all program and organization policies and procedures.
Specialty Job Functions
- Ability to effectively engage and motivate members to participate in activities
offered at Drop In
- Act honestly and ethically in all member interactions
- Ability to effectively work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and encourage building of natural community support
- Closing of Drop-in center
- Lock all interior and exterior doors
- Set the alarm system to arm
- Shut off all the lights in building
- Turn off the coffee pot
- Clean the coffee pot
- Set up coffee brewer for next day
- Closing out the register at the snack bar on a nightly basis
- Counting the money from the snack bar and balancing the account
- Putting the money into the safe at end of night
- Acts as liaison for any issues or concerns within the program to the supervisor and/or manager as needed when supervisor is not present
- Acts as a resource for staff to clarify core procedures process
- Communicate daily assignments to staff
- Tallies evening unit for the Drop-In Center for monthly billing.
- Drives agency vehicles when necessary Function
- Other duties as assigned.
Competency and Experience [Knowledge, Skills and Abilities]
Required Qualifications/Experience
- Associate degree or higher in related field (Human Services, Education, Psychology, Social Work or Criminal Justice)
- Customer service skills
- Knowledge of basic Office Equipment such as copier, fax machine, etc.
- Proficiency in the use of Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and various software programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting; creativity in treatment in various settings including inpatient, skilled nursing and outpatient clinics; ability to transition smoothly between various treatment settings; flexibility in scheduling.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- 1 to 2 years' experience in Behavioral Health
- Experience in Healthcare setting.
License, Certification & Clearances
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program.
- Valid Driver's License (if out of state hire, the record report from applicable state's driver license department is required)
- Act 33 Clearance with renewal
- Act 34 Clearance with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
- Child mandated court Reporting Training within 30 days of hire or transfer
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
- Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
