Job Description

The Business Banking Learning Consultant serves as a subject matter expert in business banking processes, products, and relationships, as well as adult learning principles. This role designs and implements sustainable skill development practices within the Business Banking Learning Journey through structured and blended learning experiences that build capability across all member-facing roles. Learning solutions are aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and business banking strategic goals, with a focus on strengthening performance, consistency, and member experience. The Learning Consultant integrates learning practices that enhance member relationships and support a high-quality, consistent experience. This role manages multiple projects independently while collaborating with cross-functional partners to build strong relationships and ensure learning programs are aligned with business banking needs and deliver measurable results.

What you will do here:

Design and develop a four-tier curriculum (Essentials, Support, Partner, Advisor) aligned to role-specific competencies, utilizing blended learning solutions including microlearning, workshops, simulations, shadowing, and coaching frameworks. Establish metrics for measuring program success.

Facilitate instructor-led training sessions, workshops, and coaching sessions for new hires and existing employees.

Partner with business banking SMEs to develop and update content covering account documentation, commercial lending fundamentals, treasury services, and compliance requirements

Build and administer qualification assessments and monitor pass rates and post-certification performance

Manage phased program rollout across multiple years, coordinating training delivery aligning to the hiring plans and system implementations

Manage and generate accurate reports from Learning Management System (LMS) records for course completions and exams, and communicate program metrics to business leadership

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

What you will need:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Instructional Design, Adult Education Theory, Communication, or related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience required.

5+ years instructional design experience with proven success in financial services or credit union training programs required.

4+ years working with commercial/business banking products, services, and regulatory requirements (BSA/AML, KYC, commercial lending) required.

2+ years’ experience designing, developing, and implementing competency-based development programs with measurable performance outcomes required.

2+ years experience facilitating banking or business banking curricula for in-person and virtually workshop delivery required.

Expertise and success delivering business banking training required.

Excellent presentation and group facilitation skills for in-person and virtually workshop delivery required.

Strong interpersonal/human relations skills required.

Demonstrated ability to motivate and coach individuals required.

Demonstrated ability to work with leaders at all levels of the organization required.

Proficient in industry standard software applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Storyline, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office preferred.

Proficiency with LMS platforms, eLearning authoring tools, virtual learning platforms, and AI-enabled training technologies preferred.

Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) preferred.

DDI (Development Dimensions International) Certified Facilitator preferred.

SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR preferred.
