Job Description

The Position:

Lecturer, Accounting

Job Summary:

Muhlenberg College, a leading liberal arts institution dedicated to student success and innovative education, invites applications for a Lecturer within the Accounting, Business, Economics, and Finance Department with a strong background in accounting. We are seeking a passionate and qualified educator to join us for the Fall 2026 academic year.

The successful candidate will:

  • be responsible for teaching accounting courses at the introductory level and/or upper-level in their area of expertise as well as contribute courses in other business-related areas (e.g. Corporation Finance, Management) based on their background. The teaching load will be 6 courses per academic year.

  • should have the ability to forge and maintain strong relationships with the students and have the ability to coach and advise students for career preparation

  • will participate in departmental and college wide services, including curriculum review.

  • engage with experiential learning opportunities (internships, case studies, collaborations with firms) to bring real-world accounting into the classroom.

  • stay current in the accounting profession and pedagogy and contribute to the department's mission of combining liberal arts and professional readiness.

Qualifications:

Candidates must hold either (i) a Master's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field or (ii) a current CPA License.

Candidates must also have at least 5 years of industry experience. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience at the undergraduate or masters levels.
