Job Description

Position Title: Experienced MinerLocation: Leer SouthPosition SummaryThis position is an experienced level mining position and is assigned to the underground mining operations. It will provide work directly to the safe operation of mining equipment, maintenance of equipment, and general labor support for all underground operations.

Must adhere to Core values including Safety, Sustainability, and Continuous ImprovementEnsure the company's "Absolute ZERO" safety culture is embedded in all worked performedMust safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mineMust be able to safely operate underground mining equipmentMust ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible mannerResponsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areasRequires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligationsMust comply with company policies, federal and state laws, and regulatory standards

Minimum Requirements

Must be 18 years of ageMust have a minimum of 1-year underground mining experienceRequires West Virginia Experienced Miner Certificate.Must be available to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requiresMust be able to work as scheduled and arrive to the worksite promptly to receive work assignment and prepare for the start of the shiftMust be able to work a shift rotationMust be able to work safely and effectively as a part of a teamMust be able to perform heavy work as defined by the Dictionary of Occupational Titles which may include but not limited to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, or pry. *Physical demands of the job are subject to change based on industry demandsMust be able to work on/near moving equipment as required by jobMust be able to understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategies

Preferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferredSupervisory/management skills and experienceSpecialty certification or experienceMachine Runners Certificate
