Overview

The Legal and Claims Administrator will serve as a key member of the Saddle Creek Logistics legal and claims department, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This position will be responsible for all administrative tasks supporting the legal and claims departments, including coordinating and overseeing file management, document preparation, report generation, and the processing of legal and claims materials. The role operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, ensuring that all claim documentation and reports are accurately filed and prepared for management review or litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive administrative support for legal and claims operations, including meticulous file management, development, tracking, and processing of all legal and claims projects. Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accurate and timely handling of liability and workers' compensation claims.

  • Provide robust organizational support for various projects, initiatives, new business opportunities, and proposals, adapting to changing priorities in a busy legal department. Exhibit the ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines efficiently.

  • Act as a liaison among clients, vendors, internal stakeholders, and both legal and claims departments, keeping all parties informed about the status of pending matters, including open litigation cases and other legal projects.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure strict adherence to established processes, procedures, and documentation requirements, particularly for the administration of claims and legal matters.

  • Draft, prepare, and finalize legal correspondence and documents, maintaining professionalism and accuracy in all communications related to legal and claims administration.

  • Create and compile project reports, presentations, and supporting materials as needed, ensuring information is clear, organized, and ready for management review or litigation.

  • Assist with special projects and provide additional administrative support as required, showing flexibility and initiative in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Two to three years’ experience providing administrative support in a legal environment, preferably within a law firm, insurance claims department, or corporate legal department.

  • Two to three years’ experience with contract management, claims processing, and litigation administration support.

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred (High School diploma or GED required).

  • Association of Legal Administration (ALA) Legal Management certification is an asset.

  • Paralegal certification or prior paralegal experience are advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and file management systems- essential for handling legal and claims documentation and records.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information confidentially, especially regarding associate personal information, company liability, and workers' compensation claims.

  • Strong writing, reviewing, and editing skills for professional correspondence, reports, documents, and communications related to legal and claims matters.

  • Proven capability to perform effectively under pressure, managing multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced legal department.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills- vital for coordinating across departments and with external parties.

  • Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and multitasking abilities; able to work independently with minimal supervision.
