Job Description
Connect Staffing seeks an experienced Defense Litigation Legal Assistant for a law firm client in Atlanta, GA. This role will support attorneys handling complex defense matters, including personal injury, product liability, medical malpractice, and commercial litigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, proofread, and e-file pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and appellate briefs
- Prepare trial exhibits, witness binders, and demonstrative evidence
- Coordinate depositions, subpoenas, and witness interviews
- Organize and index medical records, case files, and discovery materials
- Calendar all deadlines, hearings, and trial dates; monitor court dockets
- Manage client and witness communications
- Maintain case files in document management systems
- Process billing and track case expenses
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5+ years of litigation legal assistant experience (defense litigation preferred)
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure, discovery rules, and court deadlines
- Proficiency with e-filing systems and case management software
- Expert-level Microsoft Office skills
- Experience with NetDocs, iManage, or similar document management systems
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases and competing deadlines
- Professional communication skills and discretion with confidential information
