We litigate personal injury and insurance claims in both state and federal courts in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. We handle a full range of cases involving modest value to major, seven-figure cases, and our client-centric approach in every case keeps the five star reviews coming in on a regular basis.JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for an entry-level Legal Assistant to become the newest member of the team. A Legal Assistant will help to process huge volumes of information and will be involved in data entry, opening up files, liaising with insurance companies, reviewing files to determine the locations of medical treatment, sending for medical records and itemized bills, drafting correspondence, answering phones, and learning all aspects of personal injury law in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills to interact with clients from intake through all stages of litigation. A strong desire to advocate on behalf of our clients is a must. This is a full time position, that could occasionally entail weekend and evening work.COMPENSATION: Base salary ranges from $38,000 - $40,000 (depending on qualifications and experience), plus reachable monthly performance bonuses, and participation bonuses for business brought to the firm. Responsibilities:Interview new clients and perform comprehensive evaluations of what has been done, and what needs to beInitiate contact with insurance companies, and open firm files, to including the sending of correspondenceSend for medical records, itemized bills, and other documentsFollow-up on outstanding requestsOrganize incoming faxesUpdate Paralegals and Attorneys on case statusAnswer telephonesAdministrative and other management functions related to the practice of law(Candidate will be eligible for promotion to Paralegal after 6 months)

Qualifications:Experience with typing (minimum 45 WPM)Ability to handle numerous tasks, and prioritize completion orderStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAbility to build rapport with clientsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsFor bilingual candidates: must be fluent in English and Spanish, Arabic, Farsi, Pashtu, or Amharic
