Job Description
A law firm in Plano is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Legal Assistant to support two attorneys in a fast-paced practice. The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional with strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and legal support to two attorneys
- Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients, opposing counsel, mediators, and court personnel
- Coordinate and schedule mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and other case-related events
- Prepare, file, and e-file legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
- Maintain calendars, track deadlines, and monitor docket control orders
- Prepare monthly matter status reports and case updates
- Draft and prepare correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and provide exceptional client service
- Assist with general office and case management responsibilities as needed
- Prior legal assistant or legal administrative experience preferred
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
