The Law Firm for Truck Safety is a nationally recognized law firm dedicated exclusively to representing victims of catastrophic truck crashes. Our attorneys are leaders in trucking litigation and many hold Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDLs) and board certifications in Truck Accident Law from the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA).

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team of dedicated professionals. In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Paralegal to support the Managing Partner and Litigation Attorney of our Nashville litigation team.

This position plays an important role in the day-to-day coordination of complex personal injury cases. Responsibilities include document preparation, case organization, records management, scheduling, and tracking key deadlines across active litigation matters.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced legal environment. You should enjoy working collaboratively while also being able to take ownership of tasks and move them forward independently.

This is a remote position. Candidates must be available to work regular hours aligned with the Central time zone. Candidates located in the Nashville area may be asked to work in a hybrid arrangement with regular in-office collaboration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Senior Paralegal with ongoing case management tasks
  • Assist with new case intake, including gathering accident reports, police records, and other publicly available documents, and coordinating with investigators as directed
  • Conduct basic factual research such as identifying corporate entities, verifying insurance coverage, and locating public records relevant to active cases
  • Organize, manage, and maintain electronic case files and related documents
  • Draft, revise, and format legal documents and correspondence using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other digital tools
  • Coordinate with outside vendors including court reporters, process servers, expert consultants, and copy services to ensure timely completion of case-related tasks
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, depositions, and other legal proceedings
  • Assist with tracking deadlines, follow-ups, and action items across case files
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed
  • Support in ordering and tracking medical records and related documentation
  • Perform quality checks on documents, filings, and case entries
  • Help ensure timely responses to subpoenas and discovery requests
  • Assist with the preparation of trial notebooks and exhibits
  • Collaborate with internal teams to keep projects and case milestones on track

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree (Bachelor's preferred); equivalent experience considered
  • At least 1–2 years of experience working in a law firm or legal department
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook, Word, and Teams
  • Proficiency with PDF editing software, Adobe Acrobat Pro or equivalent
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Familiarity with legal procedures and terminology
  • Experience supporting litigation preferred
  • Experience with Clio or comparable legal software preferred
  • Experience in personal injury or truck accident litigation a plus
