Position OverviewThe Arizona Department of Economic Security (AZDES), Office of Inspector General (OIG), is seeking Legal Assistant II professionals to support legal and investigative operations. This role provides administrative and legal support to attorneys and investigators, requiring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across several platforms.
This is a staff augmentation, full time, hourly assignment with the potential to convert to a full time employee (FTE) based on performance during the first 4 5 weeks of assignment.
Position Details- Position Type: Staff Augmentation
- Hours per Week: 40 (Day Shift)
- Schedule: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Projected Start Date: 05/04/2026
- Projected End Date: 06/30/2026
- Work Arrangement:
- Fully onsite during training
- Hybrid available after full training (remote 1 day per week)
- Location: 2200 N. Central Ave, Suite 100, Phoenix, AZ 85004
- Provide legal and administrative support to OIG attorneys and investigative staff
- Prepare, review, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence
- Manage electronic files, case records, and confidential documents
- Perform data entry, document tracking, and records maintenance
- Coordinate communication across multiple systems and platforms
- Assist with scheduling, case tracking, and deadline management
- Apply analytical and critical thinking skills to support investigative and legal workflows
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong computer proficiency
- Experience using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Adobe applications
- Ability to multitask across multiple platforms
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Must meet state security requirements
- Any legal education or legal support experience
- Mid level legal background (preferred but not required)
- Prior experience supporting legal, investigative, or government operations
- Local candidates only must reside in the Phoenix, AZ area at the time of submission
- Resume must clearly state current location
- Must be available for in person interviews within 1 week of posting close
- Must be able to start within 2 weeks of receiving an offer
- Must be eligible to work onsite during training
