Job Description

About Us

ELG Estate Planning is a preeminent Estate Planning, Probate, and Elder Law firm serving clients throughout Washington. We foster a collaborative team environment where curiosity drives innovation and every member is committed to pursuing excellence in their work. Over the past 20 years, ELG Estate Planning has served thousands of satisfied clients and is dedicated exclusively to Estate Planning and Probate. We have offices in Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Seattle. Our Seattle office is seeking a Legal Assistant/Receptionist to join our team.

What You’ll Do

This role combines client-facing responsibilities with administrative support. You're the first and often the most important contact our clients have with ELG. When interacting with clients, your mission is to ensure every person who connects with us, whether by phone, email, or in person, feels welcomed, heard, and taken care of. You'll run the reception desk at our Seattle office, manage the flow of communication and information, and handle the administrative details that allow our legal team to focus on what they do best. While your primary support goes to the legal team, you'll collaborate across the entire firm and be the person who helps keep everything running smoothly so clients receive the attentive, warm experience they deserve.

If you thrive on meaningful client interaction, enjoy variety in your daily responsibilities, and appreciate knowing that no two days are quite the same, because one minute you're problem-solving with a client and the next you're coordinating with attorneys across multiple practice areas, this role offers exactly that.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Client Experience:

  • Greet clients and set a warm, professional tone for every interaction
  • Listen carefully and demonstrate genuine interest in clients' needs
  • Follow up proactively on client matters and requests

  • Coordinate schedules and logistics to keep everything running smoothly
  • Process and scan incoming mail; record client-related items in database
  • Support general office operations as needed
  • Keep the office clean, organized, and inviting for clients and staff
  • Manage office supplies and inventory

Requirements

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer-facing or reception role, ideally in a professional services environment
  • Proficiency with using a variety of software systems (Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Professional demeanor and genuine interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a law firm
  • Experience with calendaring, scheduling, or office management software
  • Familiarity with professional services firms or client-focused environments
  • A friendly, curious nature and genuine desire to help people

Additionally, the ideal candidate will:

  • Take ownership of your work and pursue excellence in every interaction
  • Listen first and respond with care to understand clients' whole situation
  • Embody our core values:
  • Excellence (take ownership and honor commitments)
  • Curious (ask questions and embrace change)
  • Compassionate (listen first and meet people where they are)
  • Team Focused (ask for help and step in where needed)
  • Enjoy client interaction and care about making every person feel welcome
  • Bring warmth, humor, and positivity to every interaction
  • Ask for help, share knowledge, and step in where needed to support the team
