Position Overview

Seattle/SoCal Search Group is partnering with a leading national law firm to hire two Legal Billing Specialists for its Los Angeles office.

This position is responsible for managing the legal billing cycle, working closely with attorneys, accounting, and administrative teams to ensure invoices are accurate, timely, and compliant with client billing requirements.

The ideal candidate has previous law firm billing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple attorneys, clients, and billing deadlines in a fast-paced professional services environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly billing for assigned attorneys and clients.
• Prepare, review, edit, and finalize client invoices and prebills.
• Work directly with attorneys to obtain billing edits, approvals, and adjustments.
• Review time entries, expenses, billing rates, and client-specific requirements.
• Ensure invoices comply with client billing guidelines.
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and adjustments.
• Maintain accurate billing rates, client information, and billing records.
• Monitor billing deadlines and proactively follow up on outstanding items.
• Assist with billing reconciliations and reporting.
• Coordinate with Accounts Receivable and other accounting team members regarding billing issues.
• Respond to attorney and client billing questions.
• Support month-end and year-end billing activities.
• Assist with special projects and process improvements as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of legal billing or comparable professional-services billing experience.
• Law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing and reviewing complex client invoices.
• Understanding of legal billing practices and client billing guidelines.
• Familiarity with LEDES and UTBMS coding helpful.
• Experience with Elite 3E or similar legal billing/accounting software preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with attorneys and senior-level employees.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $85,000–$95,000 annuallyLocation: Los Angeles, CAEmployment: Full-Time
