Job Description

Position Purpose: Under general supervision, the Legal Clerical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coaching a team to provide excellent customer satisfaction for internal and external customers. Responsible for resolving customer issues, meeting or exceeding department performance metrics, and supporting customer and employee retention. This supervisor would lead a team of clericals in our legal collection's unit in Cincinnati.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

  • Supervises, coaches, monitors, motivates, advises and provides feedback to department staff to ensure day to day activities are being handled as needed.
  • Ensure staff is meeting production goals, complying with company standards and federal collection laws.
  • Evaluates employee performance, administers discipline, and maintains proper records.
  • Reviews employee e-time entries, approves overtime and time-off requests, and coordinates employee work schedules to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Provide technical, advisory, and moral support to the department to ensure both positive customer and team member experiences.
  • Participates in interviewing, selection, and coordinating training for new employees.
  • Coordinates and oversees special projects.
  • Recommends new approaches to drive continuous improvement.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
  • Additional duties as requested or required.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2 plus years of supervisory experience in related field.
  • Displays strong leadership skills, while working in a high-volume setting and the ability to deal with difficult situations.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, high energy level and positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of applicable collection laws, where applicable.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft applications which include Word and Excel.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range is $52,285 - $64,799 based upon experience.
  • Yearly bonus potential based upon individual and firm performance.

Close visual acuity is needed to read, analyze data, and view a computer terminal for extended periods.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment. It is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will experience low to moderate noise levels and moderate interruptions. The workspace is well-lit and climate controlled.
