About the Position
Altus Power is currently seeking a highly motivated summer intern to work with our Legal team.
Responsibilities
- Supporting attorneys with contract review and drafting, including NDAs, vendor agreements, service agreements, and project-related contracts
- Assisting with renewable energy project documentation, including solar leases, easements,
- licenses, and related memoranda
- Conducting legal research on state and federal laws and regulations impacting solar,
- community solar programs, and energy projects
- Assisting with regulatory compliance matters, including community solar program
- requirements and utility-related issues
- Helping maintain contract and entity records, including organizing documents in SharePoint
- and tracking key terms
- Supporting corporate and financing matters, including entity management and diligence
- requests
- Assisting with litigation and dispute support, including document collection and research, as
- needed
- Assist with Policy and Government Affairs matters, including tracking and summarizing state
- and federal legislation, regulations and policy developments affecting solar energy, battery
- storage systems, interconnection, permitting, tax incentives and grid modernization
- Performing other legal, policy, and administrative tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited J.D. program (1L, 2L, or 3L)
- Strong interest in energy, renewable energy, infrastructure, or corporate law
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with SharePoint a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Highly motivated individual
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Prior internship or coursework in energy law, real estate, corporate law, or finance
- Familiarity with solar or infrastructure projects (academic or professional)
- Experience reviewing or summarizing contracts
