Job Description

The intern will learn firsthand about El Camino Health legal operations, processes, and healthcare contracts, and will be immersed in an in-house legal environment. While providing administrative support to the Legal Services team, the intern will be introduced to various areas of health law (such as privacy, ethics, employment, and transactions).

Job Description

• Legal research on transactions and other legal topics

• Legal drafting of letters, contracts, and other legal documents; proofread and compare edits

• Upload/file historical legal and financial documentation into database

• Data entry and validation of existing data in Contracts Management System

• Learn about healthcare contract terminology related to privacy, policy, and operations

• Attend meetings with the Legal department

• Complete (3) projects related to reconciliation of data, uploading files, and assisting with auditing contracts to ensure compliance with internal and external standards

• Complete (1) research project and presentation related to a topic of interest within healthcare law

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school

• A demonstrated interest in learning about legal arrangements for healthcare systems

• Ability to analyze, write and present ideas clearly and concisely

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Enthusiasm about learning to work in a legal environment

• Strong communication and social skills, and strong attention to detail

Salary Range:

$24.22 - $36.32 USD Hour
