Job Summary
As a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Legal Intern, you will assist in drafting and organizing legal documents to improve governance and compliance. You will work with business units to identify root causes of inefficiencies and contribute to process enhancements. This role reports to the Vice President & General Counsel - GRC Americas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in drafting, updating, and organizing compliance policies and programs.
- Drafting governance materials, meeting minutes, resolutions, consents etc.
- Conduct research on emerging regulatory requirements impacting the business (data privacy, security, supply chain regulations, trade compliance).
- Assist with implementation and tracking of compliance initiatives such as policy acknowledgments and training completion.
- Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): assist in developing contract playbooks and templates, migrate executed agreements to new CLM; participate in the review, redlining and summarizing of routine commercial agreements under attorney supervision; assist with intake, tracking and organization in the CLM.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating team and project meetings as needed.
- Assist with developing process documentation, checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the legal department.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Juris Doctorate.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to influence, lead, and work cross-functionally.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Strong interest in corporate legal, compliance or risk management work.
- Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy in document review.
