Schedule: Hybrid / Remote Flexibility

About the Opportunity

A well-established national law firm is looking for an experienced Legal Recruiting Manager to join its Talent Team in Los Angeles.

This is a highly visible role for someone who understands the legal recruiting landscape and enjoys building relationships, leading a team, and managing searches from initial strategy through offer and onboarding.

You'll partner closely with firm leadership, practice leaders, and recruiting stakeholders while overseeing both lateral attorney and law school recruiting initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the full recruiting lifecycle for attorneys, including lateral associates and summer associates

  • Partner with senior leadership and practice area leaders to identify and attract top legal talent

  • Lead attorney searches across California offices

  • Review and screen candidates and assess qualifications and overall fit

  • Coordinate interviews, due diligence, approvals, offers, and onboarding

  • Build and maintain relationships with external search firms and legal recruiters

  • Lead law school recruiting initiatives, including OCI, law school events, callback interviews, recruiting committee meetings, and offers

  • Manage and develop recruiting team members

  • Prepare recruiting reports, hiring metrics, and status updates for leadership

  • Maintain candidate data and recruiting workflows

  • Manage the annual legal recruiting budget

  • Serve as a trusted recruiting partner to office and firm leadership

  • Participate in firmwide recruiting initiatives and special projects

  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting processes, efficiencies, and the overall candidate experience

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of management-level recruiting experience within a law firm

  • Strong understanding of the legal industry, recruiting market, and current hiring trends

  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred

  • Experience managing attorney recruiting processes from search through hire

  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Strong judgment and ability to independently evaluate candidates

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and searches simultaneously

  • Candidate-focused approach with an emphasis on communication and engagement

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven professional environment

Why Consider It?

This is more than an individual contributor recruiting position. You'll have the opportunity to lead a team, influence recruiting strategy, partner directly with firm leadership, and contribute to broader firmwide talent initiatives.

The organization has a national presence with 160+ attorneys across eight offices, providing exposure to recruiting initiatives across multiple markets.

$90,000 - $130,000 a year

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range is $90,000-$130,000, depending on education and experience.

The organization also offers:

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage

  • Disability and life insurance

  • Flexible spending accounts

  • 401(k)

  • Pet insurance

  • Employee referral program

  • Career growth and professional development opportunities

  • Hybrid work flexibility

All applications and conversations will be handled confidentially.

We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
