Key responsibilities include creating and editing complex legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda from drafts and transcriptions. You will oversee litigation support from the initiation stages through trial, ensuring compliance with e-filing protocols at both state and federal levels, along with administrative bodies. The role involves organizing and assembling critical documentation for various legal proceedings, maintaining meticulous accuracy. Expertise in generating and updating legal table content and authority lists is required. You'll be responsible for ensuring documents meet grammatical and formatting standards of the firm.
Management of attorney calendars is vital, where you will track and update important deadlines and organize meetings and appearances. Facilitating client intake processes and mastering legal document software to enhance productivity is expected. You will also manage incoming communications, sorting and distributing mail and emails efficiently.
Additional tasks include coordinating travel plans for attorneys and aiding in assembling marketing content, such as presentations and pitch folders. Providing backup for other staff when necessary and maintaining confidentiality regarding firm and client information forms part of the duties. Occasionally, tasks may be adjusted to align with changing business needs.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least five years' experience in litigation support. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a preference for familiarity with document management systems like iManage are needed. Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a professional demeanor are essential. Reliable attendance and flexibility to work more than 40 hours per week, ensuring thorough support for attorneys, are expectations.
The role demands regular in-office presence, involving periods of sitting and frequent movement. Proficiency with office devices is necessary, alongside the physical capability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
