Our firm values organization, communication, and consistency, providing a stable setting for long-term growth.Job DetailsWe are seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to support attorneys handling insurance defense and complex civil litigation matters. This role requires someone who is comfortable managing a busy desk, staying ahead of deadlines, and working within a structured, fast-paced environment.The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of litigation procedures and can operate with a high level of organization and follow-through.Responsibilities include:
- * Managing attorney calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and meetings
- * Preparing, formatting, and filing legal documents in state and federal courts
- * Drafting and revising pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents
- * Coordinating depositions, including notices and scheduling with all parties
- * Assisting with discovery preparation and document organization
- * Preparing trial and hearing materials, including binders and exhibits
- * Maintaining and organizing case files and document management systems
- * Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed
- * Prior experience supporting litigation attorneys, ideally within insurance defense or personal injury defense
- * Strong calendaring skills with knowledge of court rules and deadlines
- * Experience with e-filing in state and federal courts
- * Ability to manage a high-volume desk and prioritize competing deadlines
- * Strong document formatting skills (Word proficiency is key)
- * Familiarity with document management systems such as iManage, NetDocuments, or similar
- * Professional communication skills and a team-oriented approach
