Job Description
Prysmian is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry. Each year, the company manufactures thousands of miles of underground and submarine cables and systems for power transmission and distribution, as well as medium low voltage cables for the construction and infrastructure sectors. Job Responsibilities:
Support in-house and external counsel in all aspects of litigation management and related risk analysis
Work with relevant functions and stakeholders across a large and complex organization to support on internal investigations and litigation discovery
Coordinate electronic and hard copy document reviews for ongoing litigation
Ensure compliance with mandatory state and federal reporting obligations related to litigation
Manage contingent liability reporting to internal finance team and external auditors
Serve as liaison between legal department and internal stakeholders related to insurance reporting for litigation matters.
Draft and issue legal holds
Process settlements and update internal tracking reports
Prepare and submit quarterly defense and indemnity reimbursements to various insurance carriers
Prepare and submit carrier trend reports related to ongoing litigation
Research and summarize corporate history potentially impacting liability in certain case categories
Preparing slides/presentations to leadership as needed regarding key litigation
Assert the interests of the legal function as needed across the organizational structure, in conjunction with department leadership
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Degree/Certification (or equivalent work experience)
7+ years experience with significating litigation and investigative skills (as a litigation paralegal or equivalent work experience)
Skills:
Highly organized self-starter with strong initiative and strong attention to detail
Exhibits ownership in all areas of responsibility and enthusiasm to take on new challenges
Excellent verbal communication skills
Strong proficiency in editing and composing business and legal documents and correspondence
Highly focused on internal and external deadlines
Highly communicative with internal and external customers
Strategic in thinking and planning with the ability to identify options for managing complex matters
Perform job functions in a professional, customer-oriented, and confidential manner
Ability to learn historical knowledge of current and predecessor entities and legal matters
Ability to handle and timely execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Adaptable and flexible in response to changing priorities
Calm under pressure (ideally with a sense of humor)
Ability to manage up and manage down with various stakeholders across functions, in order to meet the goals of the legal department
