LEGAL SUPPORT CLERK
Snell & Wilmer L.L.P., one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the western United States, is currently seeking a fullâtime LegalSupportClerk to join our dynamic Salt Lake City office. In this role, you will support multiple Legal Administrative Assistants (LAAs) and various practice groups, gaining exposure to all aspects of legal administration and directly contributing to the firm’s ability to provide topâtier legal services.

Snell and Wilmer L.L.P., one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the western United States, is currently seeking a full-time legal support clerk to join its dynamic Salt Lake City office. This position will support various practice groups and provides exposure to all aspects of legal administration
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Supporting multiple Legal Administrative Assistants with dayâtoâday responsibilities.
- Performing administrative duties such as preparing check requests, reimbursements, time entry, and other duties as assigned.
- Assisting with the billing process using accounting software.
- Performing conflict checks, opening new client matters, and preparing/sending engagement letters.
- Ensuring that all documents have been proofread, edited, and revised as necessary.
- Electronically filing documents into the firm’s document management system in a timely and organized manner, strictly following firm protocols, naming conventions, and folder structure.
- Updating and maintaining business development contacts.
- Responding to numerous phone calls and emails in a professional manner.
- Developing and maintaining smooth working relationships with staff, attorneys, and clients.
- Assisting with opening and closing of new files.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Strong grammar, writing, typing, and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat; comfort working with cloudâbased and document management software.
- Excellent timeâmanagement skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to client service.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- High level of organization, followâthrough, and dedication to producing quality work and bringing assigned tasks and projects to completion.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team, with a positive, canâdo attitude.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree (English, Communications, or related field preferred).
- Previous experience in a legal support or professional office environment.
- Familiarity with legal software, time and billing systems, and/or legal document management systems.
The firm will train incumbents on all duties. Once trained, the successful candidate will be able to handle dayâtoâday work challenges, adjust to multiple demands, priorities, and rapid change, function independently, and demonstrate excellent followâthrough and attention to detail. This position can provide a strong foundation for future opportunities within the firm, such as Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal, depending on interest, performance, and business needs.
