Job Description

Level 4 Cardiac Surgical Tech – Contract

Location: New York 14642Pay: $1,719 – $1,933Schedule: 3x12s (36 or 48 hrs/week), Day/Evening/Night (DEN) rotation, includes weekends, holidays, and on-call per unit needs

Requirements:

  • Active New York Surgical Technologist license (required)

  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association only)

  • NBSTSA Certification OR 10 years of Surgical Technologist experience

  • Minimum 2 years recent experience in a cardiac operating room (required)

  • Ability to scrub and circulate

  • Level 1 trauma OR experience preferred

Summary:

  • Prepares and manages instruments, equipment, and supplies for cardiac surgical procedures

  • Assists the surgical team in the scrub role during operations

  • Maintains sterile technique, performs surgical counts, and ensures safe handling of sharps

  • Supports room turnover and handles materials under RN direction

  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary OR team across complex cardiac cases (CABG, TAVI, VAD, ECMO, transplants)
