About The Role
The Architect Designer is responsible for the creation of architectural floor plans and elevation plans. This position will exercise discretion and independent judgment in the intellectual field of architecture. The Architect Designer I will also analyze these plans for functionality, accuracy, cost and efficiency to ensure compliance with design criteria. The creation of architectural floor plans and elevation plans requires advanced knowledge and constant evaluation.
What You'll Do
- Create, develop and design all Perry Homes products.
- Develop and create preliminary floor plans and elevation designs.
- Thoroughly analyze preliminary designs for cost compliance, value engineering, and overall design efficiency and make recommendations to management based on review;
- Coordinate design implementation and accuracy by working with CAD producers.
- Work with Production Manager to oversee flow of plans through department.
- Obtain continuing education program hours approved by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners to maintain license.
- Field reviews of Perry Homes products as well as competition.
- Remain up-to-date on market demands for plans and customer requests for all major Texas metropolitan areas.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field required.
- Requires minimum 3 years of experience in design with an emphasis in high-end residential design.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD and of MS Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Attention to detail, creativity/innovation, and organizational skills.
- Must be a Licensed Architect in Texas.
