Licensed Associate Attorney – Connecticut Prince Law Group is a growing matrimonial and family law practice serving clients through complex and often sensitive life transitions. We handle matters ranging from negotiated resolutions to active litigation, and we value attorneys who combine sound legal judgment with emotional intelligence. The role is designed for a developing litigator who wants meaningful courtroom exposure while still maintaining flexibility and balance. This role includes a performance-driven compensation model designed to reward productivity and initiative. In addition to a competitive base salary, associates participate in an uncapped bonus program tied directly to billable work and collections.Role OverviewThe Associate Attorney will manage matrimonial matters from intake through resolution, including discovery, negotiations, motion practice, and court appearances. The attorney will work directly with clients and collaborate closely with senior attorneys to develop litigation strategy and settlement pathways.This is a billable-hours position with uncapped bonus potential tied to productivity and performance.Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned matrimonial caseload from commencement through settlement or trial
- Conduct court appearances, conferences, and evidentiary hearings
- Draft motions, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, and settlement agreements
- Participate in negotiation and mediation strategy
- Advise clients with professionalism, discretion, and clarity during emotionally sensitive matters
- Maintain accurate and timely billing entries
- Collaborate with the litigation team while maintaining ownership of assigned files
- Utilize firm technology systems for case management and workflow efficiency
- 1–3 years courtroom experience in matrimonial or family law Admitted to the Connecticut Bar (required)
- Strong written and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and billable expectations independently
- Comfortable working directly with clients in emotionally complex situations
- Interest in developing litigation competency and long-term practice growth
- Experience with modern legal technology platforms preferred
- Demonstrates a confident and composed courtroom presence
- Exhibits thoughtful and effective negotiation judgment
- Works collaboratively within a team-based legal environment
