What You'll Do
- Answer inbound calls from prospective customers
- Quote and sell Farmers insurance products
- Identify customer needs and recommend coverage solutions
- Cross-sell and upsell additional insurance products
- Build customer relationships through exceptional service
- Navigate multiple computer systems while assisting customers
- Meet and exceed sales goals and performance metrics
What We're Looking For
Required
- Minimum 1 year of sales experience
- Proven ability to meet sales goals and performance metrics
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer and technology skills
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred
- Call center sales experience
- Insurance sales experience
- Active Property & Casualty or Personal Lines License
- College degree
Licensing
- No insurance license? No problem.
- Farmers will sponsor and train qualified candidates to obtain a Property & Casualty License. Licensing must be completed within 90 days of hire.
Hybrid & Remote Work Options
This position is based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Office Location:5665 North Kraft Lake DriveGrand Rapids, MI 49512
- Employees within 50 miles of the office will work a hybrid schedule:
- 3 days in office
- Up to 2 days remote
- Candidates residing in Eastern Time Zone states with an active P&C or Personal Lines License may be considered for fully remote opportunities.
Work Schedule
- This position requires flexibility to support customer needs.
Operating Hours:
- Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM 10:30 PM EST
- Saturday: 10:00 AM 5:30 PM EST
Schedule Requirements:
- Full-time (40 hours/week)
- Five 8-hour shifts per week
- Some evenings required
- Saturday rotation (approximately once per month)
- Some holidays required
Training Schedule
- Monday-Friday
- 8:30 AM 5:00 PM EST
- Paid training provided
Compensation
Base Salary: Starting at $40,000+ annually
Additional Earnings:
- Average performers earn $27,300+ in annual incentives
- Top performers earn $75,000+ in annual incentives
Experienced Insurance Professionals:
- Candidates with 3+ years of licensed insurance sales and call center experience may qualify for Senior or Lead Sales Consultant positions with starting base salaries of $50,000+.
