Job Description
LPN/LVN – MEDICATION DISPENSING
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to administer prescribed medications as part of a collaborative treatment team. The ideal candidate is empathetic, non-judgmental, and comfortable working with patients receiving treatment for Substance Use Disorder.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer daily medications according to established medical protocols and program policies.
- Operate automated medication dispensing systems and maintain dispensing equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and medication documentation.
- Follow all security requirements for the storage and distribution of controlled substances.
- Order, receive, and stock medications in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Perform daily patient assessments.
- Assist with orientation and training of new nursing staff.
- Perform other nursing duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ year of medication administration experience – Required.
- Opioid Addiction Center/OTP experience – Highly Preferred.
- BLS – Required.
- Active Maine LPN/LVN license.
- Compact license accepted.
- Skills Checklist.
- Two Supervisory References.
