Job Description
What you'll do at DBH
- Provide medication, education, and empowerment to individuals
- Observe, evaluate, and record patient behavior, condition, and response to medication.
- Monitor patient health including vital signs, treatment plan progress, and activity participation
- Serve in a fundamental role as a multi-disciplinary team member that creates a safe and positive environment through safety and observation rounds and group facilitation.
This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 10 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours are 1st shift (7:00am to 3:30pm), 2nd shift (3:00pm to 11:30pm), and 3rd shift (11:00pm to 7:30am) and may work weekends and holidays as needed. This position is located within our Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Campus at 930 South Detroit Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43614.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
Established Term Appointments (ETA) are scheduled to meet the needs of the hospital with no guarantee of hours, shifts or assignment location. An Established Term Appointment (ETA) will have a length of appointment not to exceed ten (10) months consecutively.
Position Qualifications:
License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 Ohio Revised Code & proof of completion of an approved course in medication administration.
Note: Licensed Practical Nurses who administer dialysis treatment must possess Certification in IV Therapy pursuant to Section 4723.17 Ohio Revised Code.
