- Experience working in a Department of Energy (DOE) or Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulated nuclear environment
- Strong understanding of nuclear licensing, regulatory compliance, and environmental requirements
- Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex regulatory and technical issues
- Experience interfacing with engineering teams, regulators, vendors, and industry working groups
- Ability to develop, mentor, and guide others on regulatory and licensing practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including communication with non‑technical stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide regulatory and technical support for significant nuclear station and organizational initiatives
- Identify, assess, and resolve licensing, regulatory, and nuclear safety issues
- Interface with internal engineering teams, plant organizations, and external stakeholders
- Represent the organization with regulators, industry groups, workshops, and conferences
- Support or lead development of licensing and environmental policies, procedures, and processes
- Provide strategic regulatory guidance and recommendations to senior leadership (senior levels)
- Monitor project milestones, financial commitments, and regulatory deliverables
- Contribute to or lead training and knowledge‑sharing initiatives within Regulatory Affairs
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
- 7+ years of engineering experience in a technical environment, including:
- Minimum 2 years in a DOE or NRC‑regulated nuclear environmentOR
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, plus:
- 7+ years of engineering experience, including
- Minimum 4 years in a DOE or NRC‑regulated nuclear environment
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one diverse or cross‑functional assignment
- Ability to work 10 hours per day / 40 hours per week
