Job Description: The Licensing Department at Simple Modern builds world-class consumer products by partnering with the most iconic brands in the world. Our portfolio includes The Walt Disney Company, Lucasfilm, Marvel, the NFL, Minecraft, Paramount, BBC Studios, Hasbro, Universal Studios, Warner Bros, Mattel, SEGA, Sesame Workshop, Epic Games, Moonbug, Baseball Lifestyle 101, Peanuts, NFL, NBA, NHL, over 100 colleges and universities, and more.

As a Licensing Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in intellectual property partnerships and what makes licensing partnerships thrive. You'll collaborate with teams across Creative, Manufacturing, Finance, E-commerce and Retail to help bring licensed products to market. This role provides exposure to the entire product lifecycle-from market research to concept to approvals to market launch-and is designed to prepare you with practical skills for a career in licensing, merchandising, and consumer products.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

Product Approvals & Documentation

o Submit product, packaging, and marketing materials for licensor approval.

o Help maintain a centralized system for all approval documents and creative assets.

o Support the Fan Shop lead with 2028 merchandising assortment and retail program execution

Sample & Production Support

o Coordinate with the Manufacturing team to track product samples and document progress.

o Assist in ensuring product and packaging compliance with brand guidelines.

Market & Sales Analysis

o Analyze current sales performance of licensed products.

o Prepare insights and recommendations for existing properties and potential future licenses.

o Market Research across all areas of the licensed business, including building a comprehensive portfolio of competitors across Simple Modern's omni-channel retail partners.

o With the leadership from the Licensing Analyst, build and refine AI apps and complete monthly and quarterly tasks assigned from licensing partners, including Retail Reports, Sell in Grids, New UPC reports, and more.

o Prepare insights and recommendations for potential future licenses.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

o Partner with Creative, Operations, and E-commerce teams to support go-to-market initiatives.

o Gain exposure to how licensing integrates with retail, direct-to-consumer (DTC), and global brand partnerships.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
