Job Description

The Life Enrichment Assistant supports the overall Life Enrichment program for nursing home residents at the Trinity Center at Luther Park Community. Responsibilities include one on one engagement with residents, conducting group activities, assisting residents with meals and other supportive activities as defined in residents care plans.

Essential Functions:

Organize and conduct at least two group activities per shift.

§ Visit and interact with residents one on one and conduct small group activities.

§ Maintains accurate documentation of residents’ progress and attendance to programs.

§ Completes one on one documentation and charting.

§ Engage with families, orient them to activity supplies, and provide feedback on resident response to group activities and individual activities.

§ Collaborate with Trinity Center nursing staff as needed to reduce behaviors, and provide one on one interaction.

§ Serve plated food at meal time and assist residents with eating as defined in their care plan.

§ Assist resident to and from activities and meals as defined in their care plan.

§ Attend all mandatory meeting and yearly educations and training in accordance with Luther Park policies.

§ Deliver personal mail to residents; read upon request or as appropriate.

§ Observe infection control procedures related to the Activity Program.

§ Assist in maintaining an acceptable level of inventory to perform all activities.

§ Maintain all areas for activities within the community in a safe and neat manner.

§ The Life Enrichment Assistant maintains a positive attitude which supports team performance and productivity.

Experience/Educational Requirements:

§ High School Diploma/CNA/CMA - required, must be active on the direct care worker registry

§ Preferred two years of experience with seniors and/or individuals with dementia
