Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Life Safety Systems Engineer to design and manage fire alarm, VESDA, security, detection, and life safety systems for large-scale, mission-critical facilities. This is a long-term role with exciting opportunities to work on cutting-edge semiconductor and data center projects while collaborating with top engineers and architects.Position Highlights:
- Location Options: Tempe, AZ | Austin, TX | Portland, OR | Fort Worth, TX | Pittsburgh, PA
- Pay Range: $48 $75 per hour (based on experience)
- Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
- Travel: Up to 10%
- Assignment Term: Through September 2026, with strong potential for extension
- Lead design of fire alarm, VESDA, security, smoke/leak detection, and life safety systems
- Apply NFPA, NEC, IBC, IFC, and hazardous materials codes to ensure compliance
- Create 2D/3D models using AutoCAD and Revit MEP
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and code officials
- Mentor junior staff and take ownership of projects as engineer of record
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering with ability to obtain PE license
- 4+ years of AutoCAD design experience
- Strong knowledge of life safety codes and electrical design standards
- Experience with fire alarm systems and manufacturer equipment (VESDA preferred)
- PE license, Revit proficiency, and data center/semiconductor project experience are a plus
