BCR MECHANIC – LIGHT TRUCK / ENGINE

POSITION SUMMARY
The BCR Mechanic – Light Truck / Engine is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light-duty trucks and gasoline and diesel engines. This role ensures equipment reliability, safety, and performance while supporting efficient shop operations. The Mechanic reports directly to the Service Manager.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Operate light-duty trucks, shop equipment, and diagnostic tools safely and efficiently
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and complete timely repairs on identified issues
- Diagnose, service, and repair gasoline and diesel engines and related vehicle systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions using diagnostic tools
- Inspect and repair brake systems, steering components, suspension, and drivetrain systems
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, battery service, and filter replacements
- Test drive vehicles to diagnose issues and verify proper operation
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble engines and components as needed
- Utilize shop equipment such as lifts, hydraulic jacks, A/C service machines, and diagnostic scanners
- Inspect parts for wear, damage, and proper tolerances per manufacturer specifications
- Read and interpret repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
- Maintain accurate service logs and documentation of all work performed
- Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic systems, including sensors and control modules
- Work independently on standard repairs and assist with more complex jobs as needed
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and applicable driving regulations
- Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned by the Shop Foreman and/or Service Manager
REQUIREMENTS
- Class A Mechanic experience preferred
- Proven experience working on light trucks and/or engines (gas & diesel)
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic)
- Valid Driver's License (required)
- Ability to meet requirements to operate company light trucks
- MVR required
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong work ethic and commitment to quality

SCHEDULE & JOB DETAILS
- Position Type: Full-Time Permanent
- Expected Duration: Full-Time
- Hours per Day: 8–10
- Days per Week: 5–7
- Start Date: ASAP
- Work Location: BCR Shop / BASF (site orientation required)
- Uniforms: Provided
- Tools: Employee must supply own tools
COMPENSATION & PER DIEM
- Pay Rate: $32–$36/hour (DOE – based on experience, certifications, and qualifications)
- Per Diem: $30/day (Basic Bengal)
- Fuel Pin: Provided
- Company Vehicle: Not provided

- Must meet requirements to operate company light trucks
PPE REQUIREMENTS
Bengal will provide necessary PPE including:Hard hat, gloves, safety glasses (clear/dark), goggles, reflective vest, hearing protection, and gear bag.
