Lineworker, 1St Class

Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC), a locally owned electric distribution utility, is seeking a 1st ClassLineworker to join its Operations Team at its Grand Isle District location. This individual plays an importantrole as they are a part of a team responsible for constructing and maintaining a safe and reliable electricgrid for VEC members.The individual in this role will apply their utility line work experience to build and maintain overhead andunderground distribution and transmission systems. They are responsible for safely restoring electricservice and supporting VEC's short and long-term goals for reliability and efficiency. Since most work isdone with others, the individual in this position should enjoy collaboration and demonstrate integrity totheir team. They should also be self-motivated and capable of independent thinking. The ability to workextended hours in varying weather conditions and be a part of an on-call rotation is required. In order toprovide excellent service to our members, employees must live within 45 minutes to the Grand Isle districtor be willing to relocate within a year.As a member-owned electric cooperative, VEC works directly for those it serves and is not designed tomake a profit. They should be comfortable with usingvarious technologies to perform daily work.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEThis position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 4.5 years of utility linework experience are required. Must have successfully completed an approved Lineworker trainingprogram. We will also consider an apprentice Lineworker. Must possess knowledge of the NationalElectrical Safety Code and a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License. Knowledge of VEC's system in the
